Love Refreshes

Doing something for people, in order to bring help and encouragement to them, is a sign of our love for them. This is what God desires of us - showing love to them wherever we are, in whatever situation we find ourselves.
I know of a friend who had wholeheartedly made a large financial contribution to a family in need. This act brought immense joy to the family. It helped them realize their dreams and made them grateful to God for having answered their prayer.
God has placed us in different areas, so that we can bring ‘the refreshment of His love’ to people in need. We are like wells of water, quenching the thirst of weary travelers. These acts of love do something wonderful to us too - it strengthens our personal faith in Him and makes us even more attentive to His voice. We begin to feel what He feels, hear what He hears, and do what He does.
Are you a homemaker? A successful executive at work? A businessman? Well, whoever you are and wherever you are placed, God has a reason for you to be there. Use that location to find opportunities to display love. Trust in the Lord to give you the strength to be ‘the refreshment of love’.
Friends, we all need love. Are you going to refresh someone today? Remember the promise in Proverbs 11:25 (NIV), A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

Father, teach me to love You and those around me. Make me a refreshment of Your love to someone today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
