Jesus Speaks Even Today

The first thing that I come across every morning when I awake is the sound of birds chirping. They make a joyful noise because they have a new day to live. And when I look outside the balcony, I can see the trees swaying and feel the refreshing breeze all over me. Looking at this in amazement, I realize that God speaks to us through His creation every day.
More importantly, He speaks to us directly because He is not a dead God. When Jesus rose from the dead, He met His disciples many times and spoke with them, confirming that He is alive, and everything that He had said about Himself had come to pass. The Bible lists several occasions where Jesus spoke with His disciples after His resurrection.
In Exodus 17:1-7, the people contended with Moses because they had no water to drink. After all the miracles that they had seen God do through Moses, in Egypt and in the wilderness, they still had hardened hearts. They failed to see the power of God in their lives. Because of their constant disobedience, they did not enter the Promised Land, which God had intended for them to enter, possess, populate and live abundantly in.
Friends, when we have tasted the goodness of the Lord, we should never contend with God, nor argue with Him when things are not going our way. If we hear Him, we will always know His plan for our lives. Let us not be like the Israelites who failed to hear God and obey Him.
A living God speaks to a living people. He will speak to you clearly when you stop listening to the world and start listening to Him diligently.

Prayer
Lord, I thank You that creation speaks about You all the time. I thank You that You speak to me so clearly through Your Word, through circumstances and through Your people. Help me to shut out all the voices of this world and listen to You more and more each day. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
