Your New Life in Christ

DAY 5 OF 6

Truth vs. Facts

As children of God, we are called to live according to a new reality… TRUTH.

What is truth?

  • Jesus. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” - John
  • The Word of God. “The entirety of Your word is truth.” - Psalms
  • The Holy Spirit. “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” - John
  • God’s Promises. “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” - II Corinthians
    • "by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.” - II Peter
  • Heaven. “If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” - Colossians

What are facts?

Facts are the reality of the natural world we live in and are identified by our senses (what we see, feel, hear, touch, taste, and smell).

Truth is a higher dimension that trumps the facts of life. When truth goes from being something we believe intellectually to something we have full conviction of in our hearts, faith is released and Heaven becomes the reality of our lives on earth.

Questions:

  1. Are you more likely to be influenced by facts of this world or the truth of Heaven?
  2. What do you perceive as truth?

About this Plan

Your New Life in Christ

Through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, we have been redeemed back into union and communion with God. We are now new creations and citizens of Heaven. We have a new identity and a new reality. We will break down our identity, reality, and faith and love - the two key elements of our new life in Christ.
