Your New Life in ChristSample
IF We Sin
The Bible says, “IF anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous.” - 1 John 2:1 NKJV
To clarify, the Bible does not say “WHEN we sin” because we are children of God and have a new nature that is truly righteous and holy. It is NOT a guarantee that we will sin again. There’s a misconception in Christianity that we are and always will be sinners, but the Bible says we have been made new!
The more we walk with God and cultivate our relationship with Him, the more we begin to look like Him. He infuses us with His divine nature, and we become expressions of God’s love. We no longer have to wake up hoping to have a good day, trying not to sin. Instead, we get to wake up each day enjoying who we are as children of God.
As we let go of control of our lives to the Father, we are continuously transformed and love becomes the expression of our new lives. We are no Christ-like ones with the privilege of knowing God and bearing His image.
Questions:
- Have you believed the lie that you are and always will be a sinner? If so, do you believe what the Bible says about you to be true?
- Is your life an expression of God’s nature, or an expression of your old nature?

About this Plan
Through Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, we have been redeemed back into union and communion with God. We are now new creations and citizens of Heaven. We have a new identity and a new reality. We will break down our identity, reality, and faith and love - the two key elements of our new life in Christ.
