Ekidz Devotional: All About CreativitySample
Create To Make The World Better
Have you ever heard the phrase “Leave it better than you found it”? This means there’s always something you can do to leave the environment around you in better condition than it was before!
Maybe it’s picking up a piece of trash in the hallway at school, loading the dishwasher when the sink is full, or saying a kind word to someone.
Whatever it is, when you take action to improve something, your creativity is helping make the world around you better!
When we make the world better it shows God His creation is important and valuable to us. He created this big, beautiful world for us to enjoy, and it’s up to us to take care of it and the people in it.
In the very first book of the Bible (Genesis), God places Adam in the Garden of Eden to “tend and watch over it.”
God is completely capable of caring for the earth, but He has instructed us to do this — to use our creativity to make the world better!
Ask yourself: What are some things you can do to make something better around you? How can you give back to the world God gave us?
Challenge yourself: Look for small things you can do every day to improve the world around you. Pick up trash, don’t be wasteful, help a friend, or cook a meal. All of these things help make the world around you a better place.
Pray: God, thank You for creating this beautiful world for us to live in. Help me to shape it the way You would, not to be wasteful or hurtful to it or to others and to make it a better place. In Jesus’ name, amen.
