Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
Christ is Lord
1 Peter 3:15
“In your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience…”
We either set apart Christ as Lord, or we live for and worship something or someone else. For many it is science that is god, and the technology that it offers us. In this worldview, men (we) are on the throne of their (our) lives and pride rules. The strongest survive and the weakest die. Followers of Jesus witness to a materialistic, rationalistic, scientific worldview by living with hope that is eternal. This world is not the end of the story; scientific observation is not the end of reality. We witness by expressing the values of hope, faith, and love. We witness by facing death without fear. We witness in the power of the Holy Spirit with gentleness and respect for others and worldviews that oppose Christ.
Lord Jesus, may your living presence fill my thoughts, speech and relationships today so that you are exalted and lifted up.
