Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample
“Life in the Spirit”
Proverbs 4:20-23
“My son…listen closely to my words…keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to a man’s whole body. Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”
Romans 8: 6
“…through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace;”
How can we experience a rich, full, satisfying life?
God’s Word points us to life-giving principles and examples, but the Word alone doesn’t give life. If the heart is the wellspring of life, where is the living water or the life itself?
Through Christ Jesus, we are freed from the bondage of sin and death and have been given the Spirit of life to indwell us. The life-giving Spirit of God desires to control our thoughts, attitudes and actions, so that we express Christ’s life and live with deep peace. The very presence of God with us is so much more powerful than just reading life-giving principles which we find impossible to follow in our own strength. It’s time to surrender to the Spirit of God for life and peace!
Thank you Lord Jesus, for your Spirit alive and at work within me this day, for your glory.
