Trusting and Believing: Devotions From Time of Graceنموونە
What Is It Like to Trust God?
I can feel secure
What is your security blanket? Do lots of securities make you feel secure? Do the jewels in your safe make you feel safe? Does having loaded weapons in your home make you feel protected? Is your job secure? Are your friends loyal?
All those things can let you down. Your God will never, never, ever let you down. Sit down, close your eyes, and rehearse in your heart and memory all the things in God’s wonderful plan. When you recall all the great things he’s done for you, when you go over all the promises he has made, then--you will feel safe. Your Father is a great, big God, holy and perfect, faithful and true, steady as a rock. And he loves you like a mother.
“I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me. O Israel, put your hope in the LORD, both now and forevermore” (Psalm 131:2,3).
This is why we feel safe. This is why we feel secure.
