DAY 7 OF 7

Day 7

A Prayer of Surrender: Your Next Step Toward Healing

I want to leave you with this prayer and quote, along with the option to further your healing with my Binge-Free God’s Way 21 Day Devotional and Toolkit.

Quote:
"No one is coming to save you. Only you can do the hard work and change your life in this area. As I mentioned earlier, people can support and encourage you, but ultimately, it is up to you to change how you eat and manage stress."

Surrender Prayer:
Dear Jesus,
My body is tired, and I am done trying to do everything in my own strength and my own way. I am ready to fully surrender to You and follow Your way. Each day, I commit to yielding my unhealthy behaviors, patterns, and need for control to You.

You know exactly what I need to heal and be free from any disordered eating habits. I am ready to release obsessive number counting, whether it’s calories or the number on the scale. Instead, I will focus on learning my identity in Christ, studying scripture, and walking in the fruits of the Spirit—peace, joy, love, and self-control.

I am prepared to embrace a balanced approach to eating while enjoying the foods You have created. Thank You for guiding me on this journey to freedom and healing.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Action Step & Your Thoughts: Reflect on Your Readiness for Change

Take some time to sit quietly and reflect on this question: Why will it be different this time?

Ask yourself:

  • What has changed in my heart, mind, or circumstances that makes me ready to pursue healing and freedom now?
  • Am I truly prepared to surrender my unhealthy behaviors and patterns to God?
  • What lessons have I learned from my past attempts to change, and how can I apply them this time?

Write down your thoughts in a journal. Be honest with yourself. This reflection isn’t about guilt or shame—it’s about gaining clarity and recognizing your own growth and readiness.

Once you’ve written your reflections, take a step further:

  • Identify one specific way you will approach your healing differently this time. For example, committing to daily prayer, being intentional about leaning on God instead of willpower, or reaching out for accountability and support.

Remember, lasting change begins with a shift in mindset, supported by faith and consistent action. Let this reflection guide you as you move forward in your journey toward freedom.
