A Year of Prayer: Season One Weekday Devotionalsنموونە
The following is from ‘Runneth’ by Aux. Lt. Rosy Keane, a spoken word:
Flow around me
Like I am a rock in the stream
You are the ceaseless current
Caressing me from every side
My head is bald
Saluting the sun
It warms my ions
The centre of my soul
And your steady rhythm of constancy
Blesses me
In that you are
infinite.
You are a wonder
Your tide is a flow; ceaseless
And I wonder, that you began with
Water
Brooding and deep
Upon which the heavens
expanse
Gazed in
adoration
You are the fountain,
And it flowed from your side
How can you crucify water?
How can you hate a Saviour?
How can you reject the thirst-slaker?
And so I won’t
And so I’ll sit
And wade
And allow myself to be surrounded
Pressed in
Runneth over
Your oil of anointing
Is just plain
water
today
And I can rest
Knowing full well
That I have this water
within me
also.
Prayer: Jesus, I long to hunger and thirst for your righteousness. Teach me your ways and your will. Let me sit at your feet, hungry and thirsty, trusting you will satisfy the desires of my soul.
Action: Draw a picture of a cup. Write 'glory' on it. Draw some food. Write 'righteousness' on it. What is God saying through this? (Ask someone else!)
