One of the greatest things about our faith is that it brings us more gifts than we can ask for or imagine. One of those things is a deep sense of rest and rescue. Yes, God sent His Son, Jesus, to the world to save us from our sins. To rescue us from the eternal consequences that we should’ve faced as a result of our decisions, mistakes, and missteps. But with that, Jesus also came to give us rest. When we follow Him, we don’t have to strive and stress over every little thing. Instead, we can put our faith in Him and receive the grace and peace that comes to us when we do.
What’s amazing is that God didn’t do all this just because He had to. He didn’t offer us the ultimate rest and rescue out of obligation. No, God did all this (and more!) for us because, as the psalmist reminds us, He delights in us. It’s out of God’s love and delight that we receive these gifts. It’s out of His great kindness and friendship to us that we can find rest and rescue in Him.
Today, talk to a friend, loved one, or member of your Small Group about what it means to know that God delights in you. How might knowing that help you more readily receive all He offers you in this life?

About this Plan
Few things in life are more important than breathing. It’s what keeps us going and living. This isn’t a devotional on the science of breathing. Instead, we’re talking about what it looks like to create breathing room in parts of our everyday lives. From faith to finances to friendship to so much more, we’re diving into the benefits of slowing down, pausing, and giving these areas of our lives room to breathe.
