Growing in Truth – For Kidsنموونە
Read Ephesians 4:15
Think
I love how clear the Bible is! Not only does it tell us what truth is, but also how to grow up full of truth. God loves the truth. Not only does He want us always to be honest in what we say, but also in how we act. We can do this by treating every person around us with love, kindness, and respect. When we choose Jesus as Lord and Savior, we also choose to act the same and treat others the way He treated people while He was on earth. These are the instructions for growing up…be truthful in all you say and do and love others.
Talk
Ask yourself: What do I need to do differently today to help me grow up in truth? (Hint: It could have something to do with your honesty or it could have something to do with your actions in how you treat others)
Ask a grownup: Why is honesty important to you?
Discuss together: What can we do to guard ourselves from lying or the temptation to bend the truth, even just a little bit?
Pray
Dear Jesus, thank you for giving us the Bible, that makes knowing how you want me to live so clear. Please help me be a person who is brave enough to always tell the truth. I’m sorry for the times that I have lied—please forgive me for my dishonesty. I want to grow up and be more like you, so I need your help to love others enough to always tell them the truth. Amen.
