Growing in Truth – For Kidsنموونە
Read John 14:6
Think
This is a powerful verse about truth because it completely describes who Jesus is. Read it again slowly, really thinking about what it's saying. This verse shows us that Jesus IS truth. He is the only way to have our sins forgiven. He is the only way we get to know God and call Him our Heavenly Father. When we follow Jesus, we find Him surrounded in truth, and that is what gives us a new life.
Talk
Ask yourself: Have you ever gotten lost? What helped you find your way?
Ask a grownup: When is a time you realized you had done something wrong and needed help from someone else to make it right?
Discuss together: Sometimes life can be challenging. Figuring out what is true or how to make wise choices seems confusing. When we aren’t sure what the best choice is to make, how can we help remind each other to look for truth? (Hint: don’t forget that Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.")
Pray
Father, help us to keep our eyes on Jesus because we know that He IS the way—the only way. Thank you for giving us this important truth in your Word. Help me to remember it when I am tempted to think or do things that take me off the path that leads to eternal life in you. Amen.
