Strong as a Mother

DAY 8 OF 21

You know what I hate? When I am talking to someone and only have their partial attention. It is so frustrating, and I feel so devalued. Even worse?! When I catch myself doing it to other people. It is so easy in this notification-filled world to allow our attention to be divided. It can be easy to transfer that feeling to God. Have you ever wondered, does God even hear me? Yes! A resounding yes. God delights in your prayers to Him and -- unlike you or me -- is not distracted by the false urgency of emails or texts. When you speak, you have God’s undivided attention.

In Psalm 18:6 It says, “...to my God I cried for help. From his temple, he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.” When I read this Psalm and today’s scripture from Nehemiah, I am reminded that God hears our prayers. But even more that He answers those prayers. As you pray today, pray with confidence that you hold Heaven’s attention and that God will answer your prayers. How does this change your prayer life?

Thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayers! I know that You answer me when I pray. Today I ask for _______________________. I have confidence that You will give me success. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
