Got Change?

DAY 20 OF 40

GROW IN PATIENCE

We all appear patient until tested by someone or some life situation. Some of us respond with impatience and anger, while others give up hope and often recoil into depression. Patience, the Bible tells us, is a visible fruit in the life of a disciple of Christ.

Biblically speaking, patience is: waiting for, looking and hoping for, expecting, persevering, enduring, bearing, remaining and abiding. God is the epitome of patience. He has been patient with us for centuries, bearing with our foolish choices and behavior.

The CHALLENGE to Change:

Let us work on growing in patience in two aspects:

1. To be more patient with people: Bearing with each other’s weaknesses.
Identify the things that put you off and make you lose patience with people, a common occurrence when people don’t live up to your expectations. This attitude stems from pride, and Satan uses it to provoke us to anger and sin. Choose to be slow to respond when people don’t live up to your expectations. Choose to respond with understanding and patience.

2. To be more patient in our waiting – Endurance
Remind yourself that God is in control and if we rest in Him and receive guidance from Him, we will see the fulfillment of His plans and we will grow in maturity.

We often respond to any delay by overtaking God and doing things our way, getting favors from people and accomplishing the task ourselves. This always complicates things for us (Eg: Abraham and Sarah’s mistake with Hagar).

May we learn to be patient for God’s timings and stand firm in our faith till the end (Psalm 27:14)

About this Plan

Got Change?

We keep talking about change, how much this world needs it. True change is not brought about by the formation of new laws, rather by the transformation of each one’s life. You will find in this Plan a reminder for each day of an area we need to change in and grow, prompting us into Christ likeness and becoming the change this world needs to see and emulate. So…..Got Change?
