A Child's Guide To: God Is Bigger Than Bad Days

DAY 1 OF 6

When You Cry

Praise God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! The Father is a merciful God, who always gives us comfort. He comforts us when we are in trouble, so that we can share that same comfort with others in trouble.
2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (CEV)

Do you know Jesus sees you when you cry?

Do you know he is sad with you?

Jesus understands what it is like to scrape your knee, miss someone who moved away from, or feel alone or left out. He understands because he was a kid once, too! When Jesus came to earth as a baby (what we celebrate at Christmas time), he grew up like all the other kids did. So he really gets what you are going through!

Today’s Scripture reading talks about the comfort that God gives. To comfort someone means to help them feel better—to bring them relief from the pain they feel. God wants to give you this relief. He invites you to come to him on your good and bad days. He will help you and your family get through hard times. Sometimes it just takes a while for things to get better and for you to feel better.

And God promises that they will!

HERO TRAINING

Everyone has good days and bad days. Each day this week, think about how you are feeling. Ask God to help comfort you on days when you might not feel so great. He will be right there with you, helping you get through it!

GOD'S WONDERFUL WORLD

Some animals can comfort one another, too. Asian elephants understand when their friends are feeling sad. They offer comfort by making a chirping sound or hugging their fellow elephant with their trunk.
