Faith Over Fear: Transitioning to Collegeنموونە
The Ultimate Planner
Almost every person can find the value in having a plan, whether it’s a 10-year plan for your life or a simple plan for your Friday night festivities. Plans are generally good, but life on this Earth is unpredictable, and of course, God’s plan is always superior.
As a senior in high school, I thought I had a foolproof plan lined up at my dream school. My freshman year of college seemed like a done deal, but I failed to account for the many challenges that come with college. The main challenge for me was homesickness.
Whether the obstacle in your way is homesickness, hard classes, difficulty making friends, or disagreeing with your roommate, the Lord has a plan for you! We are simply unable to predict the future. Even when our so-called plan seems great to us, there are always unseen influences. Planning can be good, but we should all allow flexibility so that God can shine through and show us His plan.
Your journey from high school to college requires planning, so keep planning! It is possible to be a faith-filled planner. Being prepared is admirable, and realizing our weaknesses and shortcomings is also admirable. Do not be discouraged when a problem presents itself or when something unplanned happens. Acknowledge how far you’ve come, cut yourself some slack, and turn to God. His plan has been, is, and always will be for you to prosper and to give you hope and a future. Have faith and embrace the journey.
Prayer
Lord, help us to realize Your infinite wisdom. You do not cause the “bad” but You help us overcome it. Thank you for always wrapping Your arms around us. Allow us to feel Your presence even when obstacles are placed in front of us, knowing that we can do anything with You in our corner. Amen.
