Faith Over Fear: Transitioning to Collegeنموونە
Attitude Of Gratitude
Gratitude brings positivity. Whenever I feel down, I start listing my blessings. Some of the most basic things in life, like a closet full of clothes, are blessings. Proclaiming gratitude out loud or writing it down is an instant mood booster. Suddenly, you aren’t thinking of the thing that has you feeling negative. Rather, you are thinking of the many things that bring you happiness.
Looking back at college, I feel more gratitude than ever. That’s the thing about gratitude; it can be hard to feel in the moment. The relationships and experiences have been some of the biggest blessings in my life. I am even thankful for the struggle I had with homesickness and my journey adjusting to college. It taught me so much about myself and forced me to rely on God and others more than I had in the past. My journey has also allowed me to write these messages in the hope that others can benefit from my words and experiences.
Gratitude is one of the most important things in life. If we aren’t thankful for what we have, then why do we have it? We aren’t always in the mood to be thankful, but no matter our current circumstances, we can always find something to be grateful for, even if it is just the fact that we woke up to see another day.
Prayer
You have blessed us with so much, Lord. It is so easy for us to get wrapped up in the day to day and forget to give You thanks. We are taking time now to recognize all of our blessings and thank You for them. Help us to see good in the bad. We are grateful to You always, and we acknowledge Your love and grace. Amen.
