Little by Little - Proverbs 13
We tend to believe a common misconception that to be successful we have to take big “leaps” of faith. The Bible doesn’t talk about leaps. It talks about steps. Sometimes we’re looking for the next big thing, but daily, step-by-step consistency is the real key.
A long time ago, I read that the first thing you need to do when you get paid is to give your tithe. Take the first 10% of your earnings and give it to your local church. Then, take the next 10% for savings and invest it, and then live off the remaining 80%. I think it’s a great formula. If your finances are tight, start by saving 1% and keep increasing the amount until you’re saving and investing 10%. You don’t have to be a genius with money to realize that a little discipline goes a long way. Of course, Proverbs 13:11 is both a promise and a principle, and it can also apply to other areas of your life. If you start taking steps, little by little, you will see growth and change!
“Father, thank you for your promises to me. I ask you to bless my finances and help me manage them in a way that honors you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.”
