The Other Five Prayer Journey

DAY 13 OF 22

DAY THIRTEEN

Mark 6:37 "But He answered and said to them, “You give them something to eat.”

The journey is long but the reward is great. The Ngäbe-Buglé, one of Panama’s largest and most marginalized indigenous people groups make their way along the mountainous trails every year to a place called Quebrada Guabo. Why do they come? They come for hope, for help, and for a taste of heaven. It is a large operation that centers on the delivery of God’s word and the distribution of God’s supplies. They need to be fed both physically and spiritually but who will feed them? Jesus said, “You feed them!”

I am reminded of a little girl who formed the line to receive a cup of hot oatmeal after the children’s service. The line seemed to extend as long as the Israelites did when they were crossing the Red Sea. Dressed in her traditional nagua she lifted up an old, used cup. When I looked inside there was a ring of dirt that made its way around the edge. I looked for a new cup but there were no other cups, only hers. So, I cleaned her cup and used her vessel to feed her that day.

God is not looking for bright and shiny cups. He is looking for dirty, imperfect vessels. God uses people whose lives have been forgiven and restored to carry the gospel to the lost, the least, and the last in Latin America. May the Lord of the harvest find more vessels that are willing to bear His name and feed people the good news of Jesus Christ.

Nelson and Amy Lugo - Panama

Prayer: Lord, help me to be a willing vessel to reach others around me. Help me to look for opportunities to go and spiritually feed people the Word of God.  Amen.

About this Plan

The Other Five Prayer Journey

The Other Five are the 5 out of 6 people in Latin America Caribbean that are not yet disciples of Jesus. The soul care decisions regarding them should be guided by the Lord of the Harvest, the One that truly cares most for every soul. The One that cares most should be foremost in determining where the focus should be directed as we PRAY, GO, AND GIVE.
