Fruit Bowl

DAY 30 OF 63

Radical Kindness

In the passage we read of the disciples are prepared to strike with their sword and cut the high priests’ servants’ right ear. Jesus' response is radically different. He condemns the violence and completely heals the man’s ear.

This is a true act of kindness and mercy. Jesus does not just stop the anger descending into more fighting, but steps into the situation and restores the man. This is counter-intuitive to our own human nature and is kindness in poignant action.

Is this a challenge to you?

How can we show kindness in a radical way to those around us?

Jesus leads us to exhibit kindness, even in situations where our human nature tells us to do the opposite.

Prayer: Lord, may you help me to be radically kind today. May your kindness flow into every area of my life and by your Holy Spirit may I reflect the kindness of Jesus, amen.

About this Plan

Fruit Bowl

Fruit Bowl is a 9-week deep dive into the Fruit of the Spirit put together by the Naujavan community. Jesus said, “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." Bearing the Fruit of the Spirit is the result of spending quality time with God, allowing Him to shape and form us.” We hope this devotional encourages you to do just that.
