Six Truths to Simply Choose

DAY 1 OF 6

Feeling Valued.

What is one thing that you most value? What makes it special to you?

On a shelf in my parent’s house is a stack of old Bibles, stuffed with sermon notes that were written on a typewriter many years ago. Next to them are several small jars. One holds water from the Dead Sea, another rocks and thorns from Calvary. These things belonged to Pop, my grandfather, who was a preacher. A picture of him hangs on a gallery wall in my parent’s church, along with other former pastors, and I never forget to sneak a peek at his face when I walk that hallway. Pop’s stack of Bibles and jars from Israel are some of my favorite things we have from him.

When something is valuable, we cherish it; it is important to us because it has worth. We can easily get pulled into the lie that we are unworthy, not enough, or too much. Yet, God says we are valuable to Him and precious in His sight. Like the things we value and keep close, is how we are valued by God, and more!

Time, trouble, and terror cannot change the value He sees in us.

Read Matthew 10:29-31 and take note of what sticks out to you in these verses.

Choose How can you choose to believe you are valued and cared for by God today?

Reflect How does knowing you’re valuable to God change the way you speak to yourself?

Pray Holy Spirit, I pray you will show me today how valuable I am in the eyes of my Creator. God values me so much that He sent His Son to die for me. I pray, Lord, that when I begin to forget my worth, or feel as though I am not enough or too much, You will clearly show me all the ways You care for me. Help me to see, know, and believe that I am valuable in Your eyes.
