An Innocent Life
Matthew 5:8
Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
David declared war against sin and was to lead an innocent life. An innocent life is a pure and sinless life. It is to live in a complete purity and honesty and to be away from shameful and evil acts.
David ensured that his character would reflect God’s love wherever he was. David wrote that he was not only being nice whenever he was outside his house, but also when he was at home.
It is not uncommon to see some kids or adults who seem to be nice when they are outside but at home, they live as self-centered people. Living an innocent and pure life means you are not only being helpful and friendly to your friends and teachers at school, but you are also loving to your parents, brothers, or sisters at home.
When we do things right, it is not because we want to be seen by others. We do things right because we have love in our heart, and we want to reflect God’s love to others.
Prayer
Dear God, guide and lead me to live an innocent and pure life. I do not want to be a hypocrite. Instead, I want to reflect Your love wherever I go. Amen.
