ManifestHER Daily: Becoming Fully Committedنموونە
I was reading a post from a huge influencer the other day. She has over a million followers on Instagram, and she is a self-proclaimed Christian. She was getting a lot of commentary from others on her post because of one particular statement. She said God is not in control of your life, you are. Immediately, I recognized it yet again—hustle culture. The need to “always be doing” has invaded our culture to the point where resting and waiting on God are discussed and practiced less and less.
Hustle culture says, “It’s all on me. I’m the ONE.” It points to SELF. The problem with this is that every time you start looking to you and self as the solution, you turn away from GOD as the solution.
Joshua 5:13-14 records the story of Joshua as he stepped away from a battle to have a conversation with a man in front of him with a drawn sword. He approached the man and asked him, “Are you for us or for our enemies?” The man replied ‘Neither. I have now come as commander of the Lord’s army.”
Sometimes we want God to justify our course of action. We want God to tell us whose side He’s on, especially when there’s a decision to be made. But God didn’t send His Son to pick sides between two people or between two sides of an opinion. God sent Jesus to represent HIS side, HIS will, and HIS purpose.
Instead of picking sides, we should choose God’s will. “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” Matthew 6:10
While people like to share their opinions, God is telling us today that what matters most is His opinion. When God and His opinion are kept at the center of our lives, we’ll see His will accomplished. That doesn't necessarily mean that everything always goes your way; however, one sure thing is guaranteed. When you place God at the center, you’ll get the absolute best result—the result that’s in the center of His will.
