Family Christmas: A Devotional for Kidsنموونە
Grafted Into His Family Tree
By Danny Saavedra
“Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” – John 1:12 (NIV)
Do you remember in yesterday’s story how God chose Mary and Joseph to be Jesus’ parents? All the stories that we’ve been reading about over the past few days lead to this one important day in history: Jesus being born. Tomorrow, we get to celebrate His birth. After all, that’s what Christmas is all about!
Throughout the stories of the people and families we’ve been reading about, we’ve seen God answer His promises—and Jesus being born is no different. It’s an answer to a promise that God gave us a long, long time ago. God loved us so much that He sent His Son as a way for us to be a part of His amazing family. When we choose to believe in Jesus, we automatically become a part of God’s family! Isn’t that cool? All we have to do is simply ask Jesus into our hearts!
Take the time today to celebrate Jesus and thank God for sending His Son to make way for us to be part of His family. Here’s the thing though, our role in being a part of God’s family doesn’t just end here. God wants to use us to tell others about Jesus so that they can be a part of God’s family, too. Being a part of God’s family is an amazing thing, and you’re part of the story! Don’t be afraid to tell someone about the birth of Jesus and how it means so much to you.
