Quarantine Your Thoughts
In 2020 we experienced an unexpected global pandemic that swept the world. The coronavirus was spreading so fast that the U.S. government required everyone to remain at home until there was a decline in the spread of COVID-19 cases. I never would have thought that being quarantined at home would create the level of anxiety that I was experiencing.
Have you ever experienced a sense of mental heaviness that was like a hundred-pound weight? Even if you are not given to fear and doubt, you can be attacked by a spirit of heaviness like I was. When that happens, don’t carry it by yourself. Take it to the Lord immediately. Ask a mature believer to pray with you if you need to. Sensing your own limitations doesn’t mean you don’t have faith. When faith has blossomed, it gives birth to hope and says, “There is an end to this. I won’t be in this situation forever. I won’t always feel like this. I won’t always feel hurt.” Hope and faith together give you a vision for your life.
Prayer: Lord my mind is in need of a reboot. I need a spiritual reawakening. Oftentimes I am in despair because I lose sight of Your plan for my life. Teach me to stay connected to the Rock of my salvation. While we are navigating through these tumultuous times, encourage our hearts and heal our land. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
