The Pivot
If not now, when? You were called to be a game-changer in the kingdom of God. You are called to be a difference-maker in someone’s life. If it’s not pushing you towards your purpose then it’s an assigned detour. The pivot is more of a state-of-mind to ask yourself, “What’s working? What do I want to do next?”
For many years I have been conditioned to believe that there is a certain order to success in climbing the corporate ladder. I have to say there have been many opportunities that I dodged but also some opportunities that were game changers. I remember about 12 years ago, there was a person in leadership who told me that your career climb is not always going to be a direct path but there may be opportunities where you need to move laterally, backwards or forwards. It’s simple, a pivot is doubling down on what is working to make a purposeful shift in a new, related direction. I encourage you to get into a rhythm of evaluating and self-reflecting on what’s working best, what you want to do next, what skills you need to develop, what connection is required, and what would be a small win for you. There is power in making purposeful pivots!
Prayer: Lord help me be bold and courageous. Let me be open to new challenges that are outside of my comfort zone. Open new doors and grant me the wisdom to know it’s Your will and not my own. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
