"I Am..." How Jesus Reveals Himselfنموونە
Since sin entered the world, it has become a dark place. Evil seems to reign, and people live in darkness. But there is hope. “The light has come into the world” (John 3:19). This light is a person, it is Jesus Christ. He has brought the dark world true knowledge and moral purity. He has brought the world the light of God’s presence.
Light brings joy, it brings life, and it shows us where we should go. It makes it possible to walk rightly. But light also exposes our works. Many people don’t like that. They don’t want to come to the light, they prefer to stay in the darkness of their sins. As a result they’ll have to spend eternity apart from God, in a horrible place called “the outer darkness” (Matthew 22:13).
Whoever “does what is true” needs not be afraid of God’s light. He “comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God”.
Do you live in the light of God’s presence?
