Praying Through Ephesians with Hillsong Creativeنموونە
After you have completed today’s reading from the Bible, we encourage you to set aside a moment to listen along to the guide provided as we pray and allow God to speak to us through His word.
Ephesians 3:17-19 says, “… And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”
So often we can think that God’s love for us is dependent on our performance or our behaviour. Have you ever done something that made you feel like you had failed God? Did you think in that moment that, perhaps, your action lessened His love for you?
Acknowledging our weakness and failings makes knowing the breadth of God’s love all the more remarkable. Take a moment to talk to God about that now.
The kind of knowing that Paul is talking about is experiential. How have you experienced God’s love that surpasses anything else you could possibly experience? Think of the moment you first responded to Christ. Remind yourself of how He has answered prayer or made a way where there seemed to be no way.
Ask God for the power to grasp this love that you might be full of Him right now.
Lord, Your love is more extravagant than words can describe! We are forever grateful for how You love us. Help us to experience more of Your love today. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
