The Holy Spirit | The Holy Spirit Is a Spirit
We cannot see the Holy Spirit through natural eyes, and we cannot hear Him through natural ears. Consider the wind. You can’t see it, and you can’t control it. In the same way, you can’t physically see the Holy Spirit, and you can’t control Him. In order to get to know the Holy Spirit, you have to recognize that He is a spirit, and you must communicate with Him through your spirit.
It is difficult for us to understand what a spirit is, because we live in the natural. We are taught to trust our physical senses—what we can hear, see, smell, taste and feel. We fear anything we can’t process through our five senses, but if you want a relationship with the Holy Spirit, you have to start developing and listening to your spiritual senses.
Only when you start spending time with the Holy Spirit will you start hearing Him clearly. Intimacy with the Holy Spirit only comes after communing with Him on a regular basis. The Holy Spirit wants to pull the curtain back so that you can begin to see God. The Holy Spirit wants to lead you and use you to minister to each person you come in contact with today. He is speaking to you. Will you choose to listen?
