The Holy Spirit | The Holy Spirit Is a Person
What distinguishes a person from a thing? For example, what’s the difference between a person and a chair? Some might say, “Well, a person has life.” But a tree has life, and it’s not a person. A roach is alive, but it’s not a person. So what makes someone a person? The answer is a person has a personality. Every single person releases or exhibits the marks of a personality. A person has a soul. He has a mind, a will and emotions. In the same way, the Bible tells us that the Holy Spirit has a mind, a will and emotions.
The Holy Spirit is not just some power you use. He thinks, He feels, and He has desires—He is a Person. It is vitally important to view the Holy Spirit as a person; otherwise you can never develop a personal relationship with Him.
When you are in relationship with the Holy Spirit, He reveals God’s will for your life. He guides you into truth, and He uses you to help and minister to people. Do you desire a personal, passionate, vital relationship with the Holy Spirit? Ask Him which areas of your life need His touch. Allow Him to walk besides you every day, giving you insight and wisdom that only He can give.
