At Midnight: Seeing Victory in Your Situationنموونە
SEE A VICTORY
“Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph
My God will never fail”
We all know that life is full of ups and downs, but if we’re honest, there are some situations we encounter that simply look hopeless.
Joshua 6 records one of these situations as the Israelites finally arrive at the place God had promised would be their new home, only to discover that the city was inhabited by their enemies.
Talk about a setback.
At this moment, an angel of the Lord appeared to their new leader, Joshua, and instructed him to do something that, to most, probably didn’t make sense. He told him to have the people march around the walls of Jericho for six days and on the seventh day, shout praises to God, blow their horns, and clang their cymbals — then the walls would come down.
Joshua could have looked at Jericho and been afraid. Instead, he chose to trust the God that freed his people from captivity in Egypt, the God who supplied them with food and water in the desert, and the God that triumphed in every battle they’d fought.
It couldn’t have been easy, but God had promised a victory, and Joshua knowing God’s track record, believed he would see that victory take place.
In this world we’ll certainly experience trouble — John 16:33 even warns us of this fact. But the greater fact, and what can offer you peace for the future, is that Jesus has already overcome whatever could possibly get in your way.
