The Day
Luke 17:24, 26, 28, 30
“For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other…Just as it was in the days of Noah…It was the same in the days of Lot…It will be just like this on the day the Son of Man is revealed.”
Are we anticipating and prepared for the return of Jesus?
The unexpected and the unprepared generations of Noah and Lot have much to teach us. Both of those generations were self-indulgent and bound by sin’s strongholds which hardened their hearts to repentance.
Are we pre-occupied with our own pleasures and fulfillment so that we no longer anticipate heaven?
If the kingdom of God is within us, how much attention are we giving to the worship and service of the King?
The King is returning for those who are prepared and who long for his coming.
Does this describe us?
Lord Jesus, come. Thank you for reminding me of your return. Keep my eyes fixed on you this day.
