Discovering The Names Of Godنموونە
May the waters be held back!
God is alive. It’s a truth that you know as a child of God, of course! The God you love and belong to bears the name El-Chayim, the Living God.
And this name appears in the book of Joshua, particularly in Joshua 3:10-13: ““Today you will know that the living God is among you. He will surely drive out the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Girgashites, Amorites, and Jebusites ahead of you. Look, the Ark of the Covenant, which belongs to the Lord of the whole earth, will lead you across the Jordan River! Now choose twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe. The priests will carry the Ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth. As soon as their feet touch the water, the flow of water will be cut off upstream, and the river will stand up like a wall.””
Joshua and the people of Israel are in the process of preparing for the conquest of the Promised Land. And during this great adventure, many enemies and obstacles rise up before them. And one of these obstacles is the Jordan River.
God is going to show them that He is alive and among them by interrupting the course of the waters of the Jordan. Thus, the people will be able to cross on dry land! God does the same miracle He did with the Red Sea...He divides the waters in two. He interrupts the course of surging waters to allow His people to cross on dry land.
How does this relate to you?
- Your God is alive. He is able to interrupt the torrent of waters threatening to engulf you, the waters rising up between you and the fulfillment of a promise.
- Whatever your situation, God, El-Chayim, is among you. Because He is alive, He’s in a position to act.
- Finally, the Lord is not a concept or a wooden idol; He isn’t made by human hands. He is ALIVE. And He is AMONG YOU.
I have faith for a miracle for you today. And what about you? Do you believe that a miracle is possible? Yes, the living God has done wonders among His people, and He is doing wonders for you.
