Discovering The Names Of Godنموونە
It’s guaranteed!
This week, I invite you to discover (or rediscover) several names of God. Together we’ll see what they teach us about our incredibly marvelous God! I hope that you’ll be blessed by what is shared this week!
In the Bible, God reveals Himself to Abraham as El-Shaddai, Almighty God. We read in Genesis 17:1, “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.’” (NKJV)
In the rest of the passage, God shares His plan and promises with Abraham: “No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.”
The scene unfolding here is quite extraordinary. God addresses someone who many would consider to be an old man, 99 years old, promising him that he’ll have a son. While, let’s remember, his wife is sterile and both are past the age of having children.
Yet, “‘But God said, Sarah your wife shall bear you a son indeed, and you shall call his name Isaac [laughter]; and I will establish My covenant or solemn pledge with him for an everlasting covenant and with his posterity after him.’” (Genesis 17:19, AMPC)
God guarantees the fulfillment of His word to Abraham. Why does He do this? Because He’s God for sure, but let’s look closer...He introduces Himself to Abraham as the God who can do everything, the God for whom nothing is impossible.
Listen… the guarantee of the promise rests on God’s almightiness. Because when the One who makes the promise is all-powerful to accomplish it, its fulfillment is certain!
Are you doubting the fulfillment of God’s promises…
- In your professional life?
- In your family?
- In your ministry?
Know that what God promises and declares, His hand accomplishes. I invite you to chase from your mind every thought of doubt and fear and rely firmly on the Word of the One who made you the promise. He is almighty to accomplish it.
Today, go forward in strength. Declare that His almightiness is at work, His perfect plan in motion.
I praise God with you...His promise will be accomplished!
