Read To Me DAILY

DAY 64 OF 81

LEVITICUS 23-24:
In our reading in Leviticus yesterday, we heard two chapters of regulations for the priests— all for the purpose of preserving their holiness. Again and again the Lord says, “I am the Lord”, emphasizing that, as He is holy, so the priests and the people of Israel must be holy. Today’s chapters are focused on celebrations and rules that are for everyone.

PSALM 22:
We turn to a famous psalm today, Psalm 22. This is one of the chief Messianic psalms, containing moving prophetic words about how Jesus would die on the cross. And then words about what Jesus has done and is doing even now.

LUKE 15:
Yesterday in Luke 14, Jesus healed on the Sabbath, taught about humility and the cost of being his disciple, and gave the parable of the great feast. Now today in Luke, we read the three-in-one parable chapter.

It’s my privilege to pray with you.
O Lord Jesus, we come to You and we ask You to help us to be your disciples and followers. First of all, Lord, help us to be humble. Those who make themselves great will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be made great. Lord, in this regard, our commitment is to wait until You give us recognition. And we will try to live humbly before You and other people before that time. And Lord, we make the commitment to come to that wedding feast. We will humble ourselves and come; we will do what You say. Thank you for inviting us to that wedding feast. But You tell us to count the cost, and to give up everything we have to be your disciples. That means that You take the first place, even above our closest family. Even above ourselves. You tell us to be your followers we have to be willing to die. So therefore, Lord, make us that kind of follower, willing to follow You and ready to obey your orders at any time. And make us like salt in this world.
