A Moment With Godنموونە
WALK WITH GOD |
In our walk with God, we will experience trials, tears and triumphs. These may distract us from walking with Him. The way to overcome it is not to lose sight of Him but talk about our experiences with the Lord.
Enoch was not a perfect person, but a man who enjoyed His walk with the Lord.
By faith, Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found, because God had taken him”; for before he was taken he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Doing the same thing for too long is difficult. We need a change. It could get to us. Man needs a change. But let us look at what Enoch did. For three hundred and sixty five years, He walked with God.
That is commendable. He made a choice to walk with God. A deliberate choice and a very rewarding choice. He chose to walk with God when the environment was evil.
- It was a pleasing walk as it pleased God. A walk in which there were no complaints and murmurs. The Lord also enjoyed his fellowship.
- It was a patient walk. There was nothing to distract him in his walk with God. No discouragements as well. Nothing to pull him down. We have worries and anxieties crowding our mind and we don't want to walk with God. But Enoch consistently walked with God all those years.
- It was a purposeful walk because God 'took' him.
What should be our motivation to walk with God and talk with Him? Sometimes we go to Him only when we are in crisis. Enoch's motivation was God Himself. Do we enjoy our walk with God and talk with him? What is it that is keeping us away?
Let us not begin to walk with God if we don't enjoy talking with Him. For the Lord, it matters that we talk with Him and enjoy His fellowship.
Let us make sure that we keep our commitments for He is always true to His. Many times we have disappointed Him. Fatigue. Too many things. Distractions.
The Lord waits for this moment where He can walk with us and talk with us.
A good walk with a good partner makes a good day.
Can we be consistent? Is God Himself our motivation? Why are we keeping the Lord waiting? Does He enjoy our fellowship? Are we a wonderful companion for Him? Can we come closer to Him and make a commitment to be consistent?
A little talk with Jesus makes it right alright.
