GO AND SIN NO MORE

As we embark on day two of our reflections, Ephesians 1:7 reminds us of the profound redemption found in Christ's blood, unraveling the depths of forgiveness that free us from the chains of sin. Let's delve into the transformative power of forgiveness and the liberty it brings.

"In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace." - Ephesians 1:7 NET

Sin brought man into bondage and curse. In Genesis 3:1-19, we discover that Adam committed HIGH TREASON; he rebelled against God and took sides with the devil by handing over his legal dominion to him. Such an act was worthy of death and unpardonable.

We know that before the fall, man was the god of this world, having received dominion over the universe from the Father-God (see Genesis 1:27-30). In the temptation at Eden, Adam willingly handed over this dominion to satan. This is the sin. It is this sin that has led to other sins. Every evil we see in our world is as a result of man rebelling against God and subjecting himself to the rule of satan.

There won't be redemption unless the man is forgiven of his trespasses. The forgiveness of our trespasses came when Christ took our place in death and suffered the penalty for our sins. Therefore, as many who have identified with the sacrifice of Christ are legally forgiven because, through Christ, the penalty for their sins have been paid. You can now declare with boldness that through Christ's suffering and death, you are free from the penalty of your sins because they have been fully paid for.

Jesus assured the woman caught in adultery in John 8:11(NET), “I do not condemn you either. Go, and from now on do not sin anymore.” Jesus forgave her and freed her from condemnation and the power of sin. In Christ Jesus, we are not just forgiven, we are also redeemed from the power, condemnation, and life of sin. This is the power of the forgiveness we have in Christ Jesus.
