YOU ARE REALLY FREE

Let's grasp the significance of redemption in our Christian journey—whether you're a seasoned believer or a recent convert. Understanding the depth of redemption is essential to embracing the true freedom offered through Christ's sacrifice

"In him, we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace." - Ephesians 1:7 NET

Whether you have been a believer for a while or you just got born again, understanding redemption and its importance to you is very pivotal to your Christian experience.

In our text, Apostle Paul reveals to us that in Christ we have redemption. What is the depth of the riches of such reality? Let us explore it for a while.

Redemption refers to the act of ransoming a thing in full. It is not something partial; it is total and complete deliverance. It means that our deliverance and freedom from bondage is total and complete.

Paul says that we have this redemption through the blood of Jesus. This refers to the sacrificial offering of Jesus on the cross. Therefore, our redemption from satanic bondage is not just true but also legal. By the divine justice system, those of us who are born again (in Christ) are legally and truly free from the devil and his evil machinations.

Jesus said in John 8:36: "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free." That is Redemption. The redemption that Jesus offers is both true and real. There is no second guessing if we are truly free or not. If we believe in the sacrifice of Jesus then we are free indeed. Jesus is the only one authorized to ransom men from the devil, and all who are in Him through the new birth are totally free.

With this truth in our hearts, we can rejoice and sing songs of freedom, just the way Israel rejoiced and sang when they marched freely out of the land of bondage. We are no more slaves but men who are really free.
