Career Crossroad

Are you at a career crossroad?

Do you love getting up each morning and going to work? Are you passionate about what you do? Are you working in the career God has called you to?

Unfortunately, many people would answer no to all three questions. They feel stuck. Resigned to continue in jobs which bring no personal or kingdom satisfaction. Hopeless and depressed.

While we applaud responsibility and commitment, we also encourage paving the path to a brighter, more meaningful future. It’s always easier to find a job while you have a job, so please don’t just run out and quit! But research and evaluate what it would take to work in the career field God has equipped you for. What gifts and talents has he blessed you with? What passion burns within your soul? What small steps can you take to pave the way for making a change? What can you do to make the transition easier?

The road ahead may seem insurmountable, but remember, “You will miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” (Wayne Gretzky) No good will come from not trying.

Sherry had a friend who decided at 40 years of age she wanted to be a nurse. With her current work schedule, it would take her 6 years to get a degree. She went for it! Her motivation? “I can either be 46 years old WITH or WITHOUT a degree, but either way, I’m going to be 46.” Such a wise statement and so inspirational!

What will you declutter? Frustration and regret from an unfulfilling career path, passing on passion, and missing out on God’s career call on your life.
