Today's scripture underscores this week's focus on The Cost of Discipleship. Jesus' disciples have now sat under His ministry long enough to spread their fledgling wings and go out to represent their Master. As always, Jesus makes sure that these students are not ill-informed. In fact, He pulls no punches about the cost that will be counted. They are not sent out unaware.

Even with the "no holds barred" information their Lord gives them, He follows it up with a great promise that fuels them for the work ahead. When we stand for Christ, which sometimes includes heading into the fire, He will stand for us before the Father in heaven. He tells us, as His followers, that He will never, never, never disown us.

Whatever you may face today, know that you are not alone. Remember your breath prayer to remind you of God's power within you.
