The goal

I will also be able to say that it is finished when the image of my life becomes clearer – when I get a better idea of what I should do with my life.

I’m here on earth now. As an old Jewish legend tells us, I want to see myself as someone who God sent to this earth with a specific purpose.

Together God and I decided what my role here on earth would be.
I had a choice to do it or not, and I chose to fulfill my destiny here on earth.

Now I’m here, fully equipped to do what God and I chose for me to do. Through God’s gifts I have everything I need to fulfill this goal. My circumstances, talents, parents, family, friends – I now realise how much I received from God.

It also sounds like Paul’s idea, speaking about the will of God for his and everyone else’s life on earth. His words encourage me to be discerning and find out who I really am. I can be certain that I will find God’s will for my life (Romans 12:1 – 4).

At the end of my life, I, called by God and equipped by Him for this calling, want to and can, like Jesus, gratefully and fulfilled say these words: It is finished!
