Can I have another piece of cheese pizza? All I wanted during my first trimester was junk food. The more unhealthy, the more I wanted it.
Although I knew that there were no nutrients in my bland diet, it was all I could keep down. At that point, a bagel with cream cheese was better than nothing.
During this time, I was frustrated with myself for not being able to nourish this child the way I had planned to. I felt guilty for not being able to eat a salad for lunch and reaching for carbs instead.
I learned that this didn’t change God’s plan for this child. There is absolutely nothing I could have done differently because He was in control.
Pregnancy is a time to trust your body and to listen to what it needs. Your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, which means it’s the most sacred place for your baby to grow.
Trust this body that God created for you, nourish it in the best way you can, but most of all find space to love yourself and this journey you are on. Remember, God chose you to carry this sweet baby.
