Precious Moments That Count For Eternityনমুনা
God is Our Strength
Nothing is impossible with God. And nothing is impossible for the man who believes. There is no one mentioned in the Bible who was totally equipped and ready for God’s calling. Yet God, through His grace, prepared His people to accomplish the end to which He had called them.
David was just a young shepherd boy when God called him to battle the giant. When David stood up to fight, he called upon the name of the Lord. He trusted the Lord and knew that God would fight the battle for him. Goliath had confidence in his own physical strength, and his other armory. Yet it was David, who had only the Lord for his strength, who was victorious. The one who leaned on the strength of his flesh was defeated.
Our strength does not come from our physical bodies or our worldly knowledge. It comes from the Lord who created us and it fortifies our spirit, soul and body. He has a plan and purpose for us – to do His glorious ministry, to win souls for Him, to preach the gospel, to confirm the Word through signs and wonders in His name.
2 Timothy 4:17a says, But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me, so that the message might be preached fully through me, and that all the Gentiles might hear. Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; (Isaiah 61:1).The disciples, filled with divine strength, preached like lions with zeal in their spirit. Beloved, let us not be idle but ask the Lord to gird us with gifts and strength so that we will use them for His glory.
Prayer
Thank you, Lord, that it is You who gives power to the weak and increases the strength of those who have no might. Amen.
