With You

DAY 9 OF 20

Have you ever lost a loved one? Or maybe you know someone who has? It's never easy to say goodbye. That kind of hurt that can't be fixed overnight. When we're mourning the loss of someone we love, the world can seem pretty unkind, hopeless, and lonely.

Jesus always seemed to be on the lookout for people who were hurting. He once gave a famous sermon called the Sermon on the Mount, where he said something that may not seem like it makes a lot of sense at first. It might even seem offensive. He said people who were mourning were blessed. That doesn't mean our losses are blessings, but it does mean that, in our loss, we get to experience what it's like to be comforted by the God who deeply loves us.

Have you ever been comforted by God or a loved one when you were grieving? Who's someone you could comfort right now?
