With You

DAY 12 OF 20

Most of the time, the things we think we need are actually just things we want. We want more money. We want a new pair of shoes. We want a particular car. We want a certain person to like us. However, the things we really need, like food, water, shelter, and relationships, are the things we couldn't possibly live without.

You probably don't have everything you could possibly want, and maybe sometimes you don't even have all the things you need. But the truth is, no matter how much or how little you have, you have the ability to meet someone else's needs. There might be someone who's hungry who you could help feed. Or there might be someone without reliable shelter who you could help house. Or there might be someone in need of a friend or encouragement who you could help love. There is something you have (maybe it's your time, your friendship, your abilities, or your stuff) that you could give to help meet someone else's needs. Jesus asked us to do this for each other. He asked us pretty often, in fact. So . . . will you?

What's something you have that you could share with someone else today?

About this Plan

With You

Friendship might feel easy when life is easy, but it gets more complicated when your friends are hurting or struggling. What should you do? What should you say? What should you not say? When our friends need help, there are no easy answers, but in this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll see what Scripture invites us to do when others are grieving, lonely, in need, or feeling hopeless.
