Recharge from the Power Source
One thing you may not know about Lori is that she loves to have all her electronic devices fully charged at all times. That means that if we’re traveling, her head is on a swivel for the closest outlet in the airport or hotel room so she can be sure to plug in her phone and laptop to get them back to 100%.
As we go through our day, we all need to make sure we’re staying connected to our power source. Don’t let your battery get into the red before you take time to recharge. 1 Corinthians 4:20 says the kingdom of God is not demonstrated in words but in power. We are surrounded by words and chatter everywhere we turn, we have access to an overload of teachings and opinions, but there is only one true source of power. We need to plug into this power source daily, get quiet, and get recharged.
Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He told His disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit. They were promised, “you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) Let’s power up so we can fulfill this calling, to be witnesses of the goodness of God everywhere we go and everything we do.
Last year was difficult for many people, and there is a good chance that the year ahead will hold challenges of its own. But we can walk into this year with a renewed perspective and confidence in our true source of power and provision. With this knowledge, we won’t be defeated or walk with our heads hanging low. As we rely on the Lord, we can be bold, full of strength and power, filled with hope and expectation. No matter what, we can thrive.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” (Romans 5:13)
Prayer & Reflection: Lord, help me to be filled with the power of Your Holy Spirit so I can walk in boldness and be a witness.
