Running From The Heart

DAY 14 OF 31

Fall into His Arms

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. (Deuteronomy 33:27)

Rebecca was on a bike ride with her friends through Manhattan when her brakes suddenly gave out. When the kind young man she was with, saw her struggling to keep control of her bike, he caught her in his arms, making a joke about her falling for him. Rebecca thanked the Lord she wasn’t hurt and saw the funny side of it. On reflection, she felt God spoke to her heart that He was always there for her and that she was safe in His mercy and protection.

Rebecca wrote,

“My life is in your hands and Lord I will trust you, you are sovereign. As we step forward, God is above us and beneath our feet, He has already prepared the way, God’s love is so deep, it’s beyond our comprehension. It wasn’t until I surrendered my life, and received God’s love, that I finally became free.”

Rebecca would go to her favorite place each morning for quiet time with God. She would settle into her a cozy chair with her Bible, journal and a green tea, and seek God by reading His love letter to her and listening for His gentle whispers. She sensed the balm of Jesus’ peace and His gift of grace to strengthen her for the day.

Selah

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. (Isaiah 41:10, NLT)

In the midst of life’s troubles, when you are feeling overwhelmed, remember that God holds everything together by the power of His word. Give to God your fears and allow the Holy Spirit to fill your heart with God’s love and comfort. He will strengthen and guide you with every step and underneath you are His everlasting arms.

What is stopping you from resting in God’s arms today? What are the worries or fears that you need to hand over to Him?

Passing the Baton:

Trust God and give all fear and discouragement over to Him.

Prayer:

Dear Heavenly Father, God of all comfort, thank you that no matter what I go through you are with me. Thank you for giving me your Holy Spirit to be my comforter and helper. I give to you my concern/s about [name exactly what it is and the feeling you have about the concern/s e.g. fear, guilt etc.] Thank you for holding me and supporting me. I trust in you with all my heart and not in my own understanding. Amen.
