Journey Of The Seed - Catch The Bible's Big Picture In 60 Days

DAY 57 OF 60

JESUS’ BOOK

[Scheduled Reading: Revelation 1-6]

For eight weeks, our theme has been The Seed.

The Seed of the woman is introduced in Genesis 3:15.

The rest of the Old Testament charts the genealogy of The Seed.

After four thousand (4,000) years and over sixty (60) generations, The SEED finally arrives.

As we enter the New Testament, the gospels present the life and ministry of The SEED.

Finally, we arrive at the last book of the Bible: The Revelation to John.

The first five words introduce the book as “The revelation of Jesus Christ.

If you turn to the last page of your Bible, you’ll notice the final words of Revelation – “The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all the saints. Amen.” (Rev 22:21)

The book of Revelation begins with The SEED… and ends with The SEED.

Often when we think of Revelation, we envision Jesus sitting on the sideline while God works out His wrath and judgment.

But that picture is just not true.

Jesus is the central figure throughout the book. He is the primary agent of wrath and judgment.

As you read the book of Revelation, pay attention to the many references to Jesus (the Lamb, the rider of a white horse, the one seated on the throne, etc.).

And if you have a red-letter print Bible that marks the words of Christ, notice his message to the churches in Chapters 2 & 3.

Remember, Revelation is Jesus’ book. It’s the Revelation of Jesus Christ.
