chapter five
1because every kohen gadol, who is taken from men, is appointed on behalf of men in the things, which have a relationship to Hashem, so that offer to do offerings and sacrifices for sin; 2can feel with the ignorant and going astray, because also he is encircled/beset with frailty; 3and on account of this must he, exactly as for the people, so also for self alone offer do for sin. 4and anyone takes not for himself the this honor, but the (one), who is called of Hashem, exactly as also it is even was the case with Aharon. 5so has the Moshiach himself also Himself not glorified, to become a kohen gadol, but He, who did to Him said:
you (SG) are My Son,
I have you today begotten;
(Psalms 2, 7)
6as He says also on an other place:
You (sing) are a kohen on eternal
according to the order of Melchizedek.
(Psalms 110, 4)
7who, in the days of His flesh, has offer up was prayers and supplications with mighty outcry and with tears to Him, who was Him able to save do from death and is heard become on account of His g-dliness. 8and although He was a Son, has He yet learned obedience through the things, which He did suffer; 9and becoming perfected, is He become the cause of an eternal salvation to the everyone, who obeys him; 10becoming designated by Hashem kohen gadol according to the order of Melchizedek.
11about whom we have a many to say and which is hard to explain, because you (PL) have become lethargic to hear. 12because after this time should you (PL) already ought to be teachers, need you (PL) yourselves altogether, that should you (PL) again teach what are the foundational rudiments of the beginning of Hashem's revelations, and are become such, who require themselves in milk, not in solid foods. 13because everyone, who nourishes himself from milk is inexperienced concerning the word of righteousness; because he is a nursing child. 14solid foods however are for mature, who have through use trained senses, to distinquish between good and evil.
